Rulindo youth acquire computer skills

Information Communication Technology is increasingly becoming important in all sectors and both urban and rural areas of Rwanda. Young people therefore require information technology skills to compete globally.
Since the Business development center started operating in Rulindo district in 2008, about 400 youth have completed training in information and communication technology,ICT.
This was disclosed by the head of the technology department at the Business development center Kimenyi Butera John Bosco.
“Ever since we opened this center, we have trained about 400 youth the three programs which are microsoft windows, microsoft word and microsoft excel”.
The training integrated all the basic ICT components to offer a solid foundation in basic computer concepts and the essentials of hardware, software operating systems, and the Internet.
ICT being one of the pillars of development, the youth need to be supported in the field thus a bright future.
By acquiring ICT skills, the youth will be more competitive, improve on their livelihoods while enhancing urban change and economic development in Rwanda.
